Ingredient: chestnut

Chestnuts are similar in nutrition to brown rice. They are an excellent source of trace minerals, and unlike other nuts, chestnuts are low in fat. They are often called "the grain that grows on a tree". They can be used as a fresh vegetable, mashed into a puree or ground into flour.

Recipe for Chestnut cereal

15 pieces Chestnut
1/3 cup rice
5 cups water
sugar
salt

1. Wash and soak the chestnut in hot water, then dry and cut into thin slices.
2. Wash the rice thoroughly, then steep for 1-2 hours. Grin the rice and the sliced chestnuts ina blender while adding the water.
After complete blending, strain the mixture to remove the solids and save.
3. Over a low heat, bring the liquid from the mixture to a boil, stirring well. Add tje solids and continue boiling.
4. When the mixture thickens slightly, remove from heat. Add salt and/or sugar to your taste and enjoy this delicious and healthy all natural hot cereal.
